Scotland 15-day Road Trip Itinerary

Day 1 and 2: Edigburgh

Arrive in the afternoon, explore the city, and find a hotel with parking outside downtown if you have a car. On day 2, discover the wonders of Edinburgh.

Day 3 and 4: Edinburgh to Stirling, the Door of the Highlands

Embark on a road trip passing picturesque places like Midhope Castle and Falkirk. Explore Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, then visit Stirling Castle and village. Don't miss the Highland Games and a visit to Rosslyn Chapel. 

Day 5 and Day 6: Stirling to Glencoe

Explore Loch Lomond National Park, a stunning and popular nature park in Scotland. Make stops at Fort William, Glenfinnan viaduct, Dalwhinnie Distillery, Loch Ness, and Inverness.

Day 7 and 8: Inverness to  Island of Skye

Start your day with a Loch Ness cruise and a visit to Urquhart Castle. Explore Culloden, a place filled with history and emotions. Then, indulge in a whisky tasting at Cardhu Distillery.

Day 9 to 10: Isle of Skye to Stoer

The Isle of Skye is a must-visit with stunning landscapes. Explore Armadale, Fairy Pools, Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, Quiraing Trail, and the Old Man of Storr.

Day 11 to 12: Stoer to John O’Groats

Drive through the North Coast 500 in northern Scotland. Must-visit spots include Drumbeg Viewpoint, Durness (puffins in July), Smoo Cave, Cape Wrath, Talmine Bay, Betty Hill Museum, and Dunnet's northernmost point.

Day 13 to 14: Inverness to Aberdeen

Drive the last stretch of the NC500, stopping at Wick, Hill O'Many Stanes, Broch of Carn Liath, Dunrobin Castle, and Inverness. Visit distilleries, castles, and enjoy Aberdeen.

Day 15 to 16: Falkland to Edinburgh 

Explore Dunnottar Castle, Kirriemuir, Bon Scott's birthplace, Glamis Castle, Discovery RSS, Falkland, and more on your return to Edinburgh.
