When Is The Best Time to Travel to Istanbul?

If you are also going to Cappadocia, the best time to go is in spring.

Summer: About 40 degrees Celsius. – Spring and autumn: the best time to travel to Istanbul, with pleasant temperatures and little chance of rain. – Winter: It is cold and snowy, but fewer tourists.

How to Get to and Around Istanbul

We used Uber; if you do not speak English, I recommend you hire a transfer online. And for moving around the city, mostly walking and by cab.

Spend 4 Days in Istanbul

Day 1 in Istanbul

Arrival in the afternoon in Istanbul, at Sabiha Gökçen airport.

Have dinner at the Galata Bridge restaurants. Don’t order fish by weight.

Day 2 in Istanbul: Visiting the Ottoman Istanbul

Visit the Topkapi Palace in ancient Byzantium. You can see the Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Golden Horn.

The Blue Mosque was under construction when we went there. Basilica Cistern features sculptural artworks from different periods.

Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art was the residence of Ibrahim Paşa, a vizier in the year 1523.

Day 3 in Istanbul: Bosphorus Cruise

We stopped in a very picturesque fishing village. We ended the day enjoying the sunset on a terrace overlooking Istanbul’s most famous mosques.

Day 4 in Istanbul: Grand Bazaar, Suleiman Mosque, and Beyoglu

Grand Bazaar is the largest covered market in the world.

Suleiman, the Magnificent Mosque, was commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent with FREE admission.

Beyoglu is full of life, with bars and stores on both sides.

Istiklâl Avenue is a shopping street that runs through Beyoglu.

Day 5 in Istanbul: Spice Bazaar and Asian Side

Egyptian Bazaar or Spice Bazaar is a colorful market packed with all kinds of spices. Kiz Külesi is super quiet with a sad history and is reachable via a small boat.
