We could feel the people&#8217;s friendliness, appreciate the beauty of its main squares, and enjoy the Christmas decorations and gastronomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog, I will tell you about our visit to the capital and our Poland travel guide. I am one of those people who enjoys winter, especially when there is snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we arrived, the first thing we did was <strong>buy bus tickets<\/strong> to go to the city center. They cost about 33 zlotys (8,25\u20ac). To make the calculation, you must divide it by four. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport was small, so we had time to buy the tickets and get to the bus. We arrived a little before 8 pm, and the bus left at 8:10 pm. But it was <strong>better to buy the tickets online<\/strong> when we arrived. We loved it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The whole place was embellished with Christmas decorations. The food and service were excellent; they <strong>only had about 7 or 8 tables.<\/strong> Super recommended!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We went back to the hotel for a walk around the city. It seemed to us that Warsaw was a very safe city. The guide picked us up at the hotel, and we toured Warsaw as if we were locals, some on foot and some by public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first stop was the visit to the<strong> Palace of Culture and Science<\/strong>. We went up to the 30th floor and enjoyed 360\u00ba views of Warsaw while Iza told us what we were seeing. The<strong> Vistula River<\/strong> runs through Poland, the PGE national stadium, the different buildings, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Polonia-varsovia-1.jpg\" alt=\"Panoramic views of Warsaw. Poland\" class=\"wp-image-5850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Polonia-varsovia-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Polonia-varsovia-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Polonia-varsovia-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Our guide, Iza, showed us around the city, and as we toured Warsaw, she told us about what had happened in each place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/warsaw-l41\/warsaw-3-hour-tour-of-the-warsaw-ghetto-t33452\/?partner_id=HBKRMW4&amp;utm_medium=online_publisher&amp;placement=content-middle&amp;cmp=warsaw2d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\"><strong>toured the Warsaw Ghetto<\/strong><\/a>, and Iza showed us the only four surviving buildings that are now being restored from the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">POLIN Museum<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From there, we went to the POLIN Museum, which <strong>tells the life, culture, and history of the Jews in Poland.<\/strong> There is a record of their arrival in the country through the trade routes in the 10th century, more than a thousand years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Polonia-Varsovia-Polin-2.jpg\" alt=\"POLIN Museum in Warsaw. It has<strong> 8 galleries<\/strong> that explain the life of the Jews from their first encounters to the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a guide, we learned the most important details. Without a guide, it is advisable to visit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/warsaw-l41\/warsaw-polin-museum-of-the-history-of-polish-jews-ticket-t296385\/?partner_id=HBKRMW4&amp;utm_medium=online_publisher&amp;placement=content-middle&amp;cmp=warsaw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">with an audio guide<\/a> <\/strong>to take advantage of what you see. It is advisable to have enough time to go through it, at least two hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Royal Castle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We visited the Royal Castle and <strong>needed to be early<\/strong>. The castle was rebuilt entirely, maintaining its original style, since the Nazi occupation destroyed almost all of Warsaw. We can see the <strong>works of art saved from World War II<\/strong> because they were hidden before the Germans arrived. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/la-nina-del-marco-museo-varsovia.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"1067\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/la-nina-del-marco-museo-varsovia.jpg\" alt=\"the girl in the frame, warsaw\" class=\"wp-image-7927\" srcset=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/la-nina-del-marco-museo-varsovia.jpg 800w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/la-nina-del-marco-museo-varsovia-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/la-nina-del-marco-museo-varsovia-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/la-nina-del-marco-museo-varsovia-450x600.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>You can see <strong>two Rembrandts<\/strong>: &#8220;The Girl in a Frame&#8221; and &#8220;The Father of the Jewish Bride.&#8221; The visit to the royal apartments, the Throne, and other royal rooms makes it worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visit The Square Of The \u201cLittle Mermaid\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Legend has it that<strong> there were two mermaids<\/strong>, one headed for Copenhagen and the other for Warsaw. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one who arrived in Warsaw was captured by a merchant, who<strong> kept her locked up<\/strong> and earned money from the mermaid&#8217;s songs.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/polonia-varsovia-.jpg\" alt=\"Square of the little mermaid in Warsaw. She, in the form of gratitude, became the guardian of Poland. We could see the <strong>light and music show <\/strong>prepared for the Christmas season. It is <strong>ideal traveling to Warsaw with kids<\/strong>. They are like large ravioli or small pies with various fillings. The most famous is the &#8220;Ruskies.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We tried them pan-fried when they are more similar to empanadas, and the other version is boiled, similar to ravioli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Brief History of Warsaw<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Traveling to Poland feels like walking through the history of Europe. You learn about the invasions, wars, and murders that happened there happened less than 70 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poland in the 18th century <strong>was divided into three parts<\/strong>. The Russian Empire, Prussia, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire took a piece of Poland. When the <strong>First World War <\/strong>came, they became a single independent country again, although smaller than it was at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that the Russians and Germans did not forgive this. When the Second World War came, the Germans invaded from the west and the Russians from the east.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During <strong>World War II<\/strong>, we already know everything that happened. The<strong> Nazis persecuted and murdered Poles, Jews, Gypsies<\/strong>, and anyone who did not fit into their principles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They <strong>destroyed 90% of Warsaw<\/strong>. Its reconstruction was based on photographs and paintings of the city that were saved from being destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Second World War ended, and the communists arrived and stayed until 1989.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Get Around Warsaw?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is often necessary to<strong> use public transport,<\/strong> which works well and is <strong>cheap<\/strong>, to move around the large city of Warsaw. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We have used the subway, bus, and streetcar<\/strong>. It was a good experience, but you must know the stops because the names are complicated!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also<strong> take a taxi.
