So, we had an excellent Scottish breakfast in this case, and we were ready to start the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recommendation<\/strong>: leave your car in the hotel car park and walk to the center. There were four of us, a couple from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/en\/route-66-visiting-chicago-what-to-see\/\">Chicago<\/a><\/strong> and two of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We first got to know the world&#8217;s most extensive Scotch Whisky collection, with bottles older than you and me combined. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, they invited us to coffee and pastries because you didn&#8217;t want to start the master class on an empty stomach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The master class introduced us to Lindsey, a lovely girl who knows a lot of whiskies, has a lot of patience with the questions and looks at us with an incredulous face when we told her how we drink the whisky in Spain (if you don&#8217;t know, it&#8217;s mixed with coke or other soda).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She told us that blended whiskies could be mixed with coke or some other soft drink, but that single malt is like sacrilege, more or less.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Edimburgo-Whisky-experience-2.jpg\" alt=\"24 hours in Edinburgh Whisky Experience\" class=\"wp-image-5698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Edimburgo-Whisky-experience-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Edimburgo-Whisky-experience-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Edimburgo-Whisky-experience-2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In the master class, we tried different types of Scotch whisky, a blend, a single grain, and two single malts. In another post, I will tell you a little more about each one; it&#8217;s fascinating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So we&#8217;ve learned to drink Scotch whisky! Before you have the first drink, you have to smell it and try to identify the different aromas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, you have to wet your lips, give another little sip so that your mouth gets used to it, and you have to taste it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At first, it tastes like alcohol, but when she explains it to you, you begin to find the flavors and smells, and it starts to taste better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now we have been fond of drinking Scotch whisky, without water or ice, just a good single malt whisky! So, this is a must-do if you have little time or only one day to visit Edinburgh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coffee at Edinburgh\u2019s The Hub<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/The-Hub.jpg\" alt=\"24 hours in Edinburgh. A former church converted into the headquarters of the Edinburgh International Festival, with different rooms and a caf\u00e9. A must-see on your 1-day visit to Edinburgh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we visited St Giles&#8217; Cathedral, we came across a piano concerto. It&#8217;s incredible how music changes the visit to a cathedral, especially if it is live classical music! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As visitors arrived, they sat down and listened to music instead of going around to see the stained glass windows and works of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>We also sat down for a little while and then visited the inside of this magnificent cathedral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to Eat Fast and Yummy? So we&#8217;re looking for a place to serve pizza slices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are plenty of pizzerias on the Royal Mile, and we found Civerinos, a place located at number 5 Hunter Square, and it is a place that is quite good, especially because they serve you fast food is cheap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We ordered two pizza slices each, which is normal considering the size of the portions in Spain. However, we weren&#8217;t ready for what we expected since 1 &#8220;slice&#8221; was half pizza!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, we ate four half pizzas and two beers for \u20ac 21.70; although it could have been two slices perfectly, we would have eaten for half the price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">South Bridge Underground (Mercat Tours)<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/South-Bridge-Edimburgo.jpg\" alt=\"South bridge vaults, Edinburgh\" class=\"wp-image-5715\" srcset=\"https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/South-Bridge-Edimburgo.jpg 800w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/South-Bridge-Edimburgo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/touristear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/South-Bridge-Edimburgo-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Edinburgh is a city with many ghost stories; we couldn&#8217;t go without knowing some now, could we? So we decided to take the tour to get to know <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/edinburgh-l44\/the-original-underground-tour-edinburgh-t47520\/?partner_id=HBKRMW4&amp;utm_medium=online_publisher&amp;utm_source=touristear&amp;placement=content-middle&amp;cmp=24h\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>the vaults under the South Bridge<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tour we did with a local guide, who I don&#8217;t remember the name of. We left the ghost tour and went to visit Edinburgh Castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Edinburgh Castle <\/strong>is quite large and has a lot of things to see. We toured it without the audio guide, and it took about two hours. These were covered when a former shopping center was built where we can now see Edinburgh City Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paula tells us the story of the Close, about the people who lived there, murders, misery, and the plague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiqets.com\/en\/edinburgh-attractions-c21\/tickets-for-the-real-mary-king-s-close-p984143\/?partner=touristear&amp;tq_campaign=24hedinb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\"><strong>Mary King&#8217;s Close in Edinburgh&#8217;s most famous alley<\/strong><\/a>.
